About
I am a PhD student at the Human Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Waterloo, located in Canada. My advisor is Dan Vogel. My thesis research investigates non-game forms of “play” in software user interfaces, such as using software to create artistic content, personalizing software to facilitate self-expression, and engaging with joyful features like Easter eggs (hidden features or media). I also have research experience in areas such as virtual reality, critical design, and fabrication. I completed my undergraduate degree in the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto, with a specialization in electrical and computer engineering. Outside of school, I enjoy programming and building gadgets, folding origami, and cooking.
