About

I am an assistant professor at the Interactions Lab in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary, located in Alberta, Canada. My research investigates non-game forms of “play” in software user interfaces, such as using software to create artistic content, personalizing software to facilitate self-expression, and engaging with joyful features like Easter eggs (hidden features or media). I also have research experience in areas such as virtual reality, critical design, and fabrication. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, where I was previously a member of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab. I completed my undergraduate degree in the Engineering Science program at the University of Toronto, with a specialization in electrical and computer engineering.
